Stationary appetizers for bridal shower

Even before the big day, we see our brides and their families celebrating and showering them with love.  We were honored to have the opportunity to host a bridal shower last weekend for the beautiful bride-to-be Nicole.  We held this event at The Winery at Bull Run in Centreville, VA, where we have grown to love working over the past 2 years.  Even something as simple as a 40 person brunch can still be special.  We used beautiful colors (Maize, Coral Pink and Tiffany Blue) for our linens thanks to Select Event Group.  Alternating the colors of napkins on the guest tables and having simple and elegant floral arrangements with rustic stones made the guest seating unique.

We decided to use a very rustic/elegant approach to the tabletop design for the appetizers and buffet.   The white window pane was used to show what appetizers were being served.  Being able to see through the window to the decor and flowers on the back of the table was a nice touch. A craftsman on our team created the rustic hand-made benches, which we used on the appetizer and buffet tables to add height to the back.

The fruit display was shown on elegant glass cake stands while the local and artisanal cheeses were displayed on wooden planks.  We even were able to have our Sous Chef Becky make some amazing breakfast breads and muffins with her very own homemade pumpkin butter and other jellies and preserves.  For lunch, we served a refreshing local apple salad with spiced pecans and a maple vinaigrette along with fresh fruit parfaits, roasted garlic-rosemary potatoes and individual quiches. We chose to bring the looks of the two tables together by using the two wooden benches, the same linens as well as some small strings of lights to offset the naturally-dark barrel room.

To top off the afternoon enjoyment, we hosted a mimosa and bellini bar.  We had Christina, The Winery at Bull Run‘s head bartender, making cocktails for the ladies.  She always knows how to make her bar look beautiful and organized.  We used some of the family photos that the client provided, to fill in some tabletop room on the bar, buffet and all around the room.  We even used an antique music stand that we painted white to display a family wedding picture.

We love to work with brides for their special day, but it’s even nicer when we get to start the relationship earlier in the process.  From a big get-together at a venue, to a small family gathering, we love to help you get ready for your event.  Think of us for your showers, weddings, anniversaries or any other event needing some hand-crafted, artisanal food as well as event design and planning.
