Catering Event Representative

This full time position generates leads and sources of new business, builds client relationships from initial inquiry to sale to execution of final event, and educates potential clients about catering services.

Duties include:

  • Handling incoming leads: gathering information from potential clients and compiling data into database
  • Using database to write proposals for catered events
  • Attending all tastings for potential and signed clients assigned to representative
  • Developing vendor and venue relationships; leveraging these relationships to build new sources of business
  • Representing catering business at promotional events
  • Working at assigned client events as service captain; completing client experience through on-site event management
  • Working closely with President and Vice-President on marketing campaigns
  • Responding to questions and making changes to contracts for assigned clients
  • Updating President and Vice-President regularly on lead status

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of catering or event management experience. You must speak English and be technologically savvy. Strong writing and communication skills are essential. You will be able to telecommute once you are trained, but you are expected to train in our Loudoun County office and return to the office for sales meetings on a regular basis.

Chef de Cuisine

Rochelle Myers Catering is hiring a full-time chef de cuisine to keep our busy kitchen humming!

The chef de cuisine manages the day to day operation of the kitchen, including scheduling prep staff, managing and training prep team members, organizing prep tasks and overseeing the preparation process. The chef de cuisine also serves as event chef on site at catered events, including setting up and organizing field kitchens and managing the back-of-house service flow. The chef de cuisine will assist with sourcing, ordering and inventorying ingredients and will help develop sequence of prep to optimize resources. The chef de cuisine will also have the opportunity to develop new menu items and will work in concert with the sales team and the executive chef to maintain our reputation for creative, handcrafted cuisine. The chef de cuisine sets the pace and tenor of the kitchen; ideal candidates are willing to do any task in the kitchen and set the barometer for efficiency and sanitation.

This position requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. Applicants must be able to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 40 pounds. Excellent communication skills are imperative, as are decent computer skills. Organization is the cornerstone of this position; a willingness and ability to adjust for last-minute changes is to be expected. Candidates should be ServSafe certified or equivalent, and should carry a strong commitment to sanitation standards. Applicants must have either a culinary degree and 2 years of fulltime kitchen experience, or no culinary degree and 4 years of fulltime kitchen experience to be eligible. Experience with high-volume cooking is a significant plus.

Compensation will be based on experience. This is a salaried position. Health insurance is available.
